Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Medical Biller & Coder to manage the full revenue cycle across a diverse client base of medical practices. In this pivotal role, you will own charge entry, coding, claim submission, denial management, and payment reconciliation across multiple specialties and payer types. Your expertise will drive clean-claim rates, reduce denials, and accelerate collections for the practices we serve. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across primary care, specialty, and ancillary billing environments, adapt to a range of EHR and billing platforms, and directly impact client revenue through precision, accountability, and strong payer knowledge.

Responsibilities

Perform charge entry, claim submission, and clean-claim review across multiple medical specialties to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement
Assign and verify CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes and modifiers with specialty-specific accuracy in accordance with current coding guidelines
Manage denials end to end, including root-cause analysis, corrections, resubmissions, and payer appeals to recover outstanding revenue
Post payments and reconcile EOBs and ERAs against expected reimbursement to identify underpayments and discrepancies
Work accounts receivable aging by following up on unpaid and underpaid claims, escalating payer issues, and reducing days in AR
Process claims for both commercial payers (BCBS, Aetna, United, Cigna) and government payers (Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal), including managed care and capitated arrangements
Support patient billing, statements, and account inquiries while maintaining professionalism and compliance with company policies

Skills

Proven medical billing and coding experience across two or more specialties with a focus on full revenue cycle management
Strong command of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, and payer-specific billing rules and requirements
Coding certification (CPC, CCS, CPB, or equivalent) with the ability to code accurately across varied clinical settings
Demonstrated denial management and appeals experience, not limited to routine claim submission
Proficiency with multiple EHR and practice management systems (Tebra/Kareo, Practice Fusion, CollaborateMD, or similar)
Working knowledge of both fee-for-service and managed care/capitated billing models
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities without sacrificing accuracy
Organizational skills essential for tracking claims, AR follow-up, and reconciliation across accounts
HIPAA awareness and a professional approach to handling protected health information
