Position Title: Director of Financial Assistance

Position Accountable To: Vice President for Enrollment Management

GENERAL SUMMARY: Member of the Enrollment Management leadership team responsible for the effective administration of all financial aid programs and policies for CMU students.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Direct and manage student financial aid operations and programs

· Maintain institutional compliance for Title IV programs

· Assure proper counsel and advice to students and their families about financial aid opportunities

· Oversee the maintenance and integrity of information on the financial aid web page

· Ensure CMU programs and operations are administered in compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines

· Hire, train, and supervise student financial assistance staff

· Keep abreast of financial aid trends, technologies and best practices

· Work collaboratively with appropriate University personnel to review financial processes and improvements to gain efficiencies and maximize service to students

· Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree-Preferred

· Bachelor’s Degree-Required; Accounting degree preferred

· Supervisor experience - Preferred

· 3-5 years of financial aid or higher education administrative experience - Preferred

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Knowledge of Prison Education Programs - Preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: General knowledge of accounting principles and methods, data processing systems and computer software.

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES: Typical office setting. Occasional weekend or evenings for special student events.
