Podiatrist (DPM) – Senior Care / Long-Term Care

Location: Columbia to Charleston, SC
Schedule: Full Time
Practice Setting: Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a Podiatrist (DPM) to provide high-quality foot and ankle care to patients in senior care and long-term care communities throughout the Lakeland and Lake Wales area . This is an excellent opportunity for a podiatrist seeking flexible scheduling, strong clinical support, and a balanced lifestyle—with no call, no weekends, no nights, and no surgery.

This role is ideal for both experienced podiatrists and new graduates coming directly out of residency.

Practice Details

Facilities: Long-Term Care / Nursing Facilities
Facility Size: 80–150 beds
Daily Visits: Approximately 2 facilities per day
Patient Volume: 20–40 patients per day
Territory: Columbia to Charleston, SC
Care Model: Mobile / Hybrid

Responsibilities

Travel to contracted long-term care facilities to provide podiatric services
Perform comprehensive foot and ankle evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations
Diagnose and treat conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity
Manage complex diabetic foot conditions in accordance with evidence-based protocols
Provide general podiatric care including treatment of forefoot and select rearfoot conditions (e.g., hallux valgus, hammertoes, ankle instability, soft tissue and bony pathology)
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and prescribe appropriate treatments, including physical medicine and therapy
Accurately document patient care and treatment plans
Communicate effectively with facility administrators and care teams regarding patient needs
Participate in outreach and educational events as needed

Qualifications

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program
Board Certified or Board Qualified DPM
Active South Carolina DPM license
Active Medicare number
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a mobile care environment
