Travel OR Surgical Technologist – Surgical Oncology | Operating Room
Location: Columbus, OH
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (12:30pm - 11:00)/ Day 3x12-Hour (06:30am - 7:00pm)
Contract: 13 weeks with possible extension
pay: $2000/ week to $2300/ week
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technologist (OR Tech / Surgical Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment at a high-acuity surgical oncology operating room. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary surgical teams in a fast-paced environment supporting complex oncologic and specialty surgical procedures.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience scrubbing a wide variety of complex surgical cases, including Robotics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Thoracic, Plastics, and Endoscopic procedures, and is comfortable working in a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environment.

Assignment Details
- Position: Travel OR Surgical Technologist
- Specialty: Operating Room – Surgical Oncology
- Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Rotating Day/Evening (40 hours/week)
- Combination of:
- 3x12-Hour Shifts
- 4x10-Hour Shifts
- 8-Hour Shifts as needed
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Weekend coverage required (Every Other Weekend)
- Call required
- Start Date: ASAP
Note: Schedule is a rotating combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts and is not guaranteed to remain 4x10s.Position Responsibilities
As an Operating Room Surgical Technologist, you will:
- Prepare operating rooms prior to procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical cases.
- Set up and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and specialty equipment.
- Assist surgeons during complex operative procedures by anticipating surgical needs.
- Perform scrub duties for multiple surgical specialties.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, specimen handling, and instrument counts.
- Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, RNs, and other perioperative staff.
- Document procedures accurately using the electronic medical record.
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Support efficient OR workflow while maintaining exceptional patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience (Hard Stop)
- Current BLS Certification
- Experience with both scrubbing and circulating surgical procedures
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and call
Required Clinical Experience (Hard Stops)

Important Information
