Full Job Description

Are you a dependable and compassionate professional committed to making a difference? Join our team at Friends of the Homeless, where we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for men experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a Security Guard to help ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

Monitor premises to prevent and respond to safety issues.
Conduct regular security checks throughout the shelter.
De-escalate conflicts with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain clear and respectful communication with guests.
Work closely with shelter staff to uphold shelter policies and procedures.
Document incidents and maintain accurate logs.

Availability:

Part-time (Weekend Shift): Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Full-time (Second Shift): Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Requirements:

Prior experience in security or a similar role preferred.
Ability to stay calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations.
Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Training in CPR/First Aid and de-escalation techniques a plus.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
