Job title : Registered Nurse – PCU | Acute Leukemia
Location: Columbus, OH
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Contract: 16 weeks
Shift: Days/Nights – 3×12s
Schedule: 07:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Unit: Acute Leukemia

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced PCU/Acute Care RN to care for an acute leukemia patient population, primarily newly diagnosed leukemia patients. This is a high-acuity medical/oncology unit with a strong focus on blood products, IV antibiotics, electrolytes, infection prevention, and fall prevention. (BI02)

Required Qualifications

Current acute care/PCU experience
Acute care experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
Current experience must be in the specialty being applied for
Mandatory experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias
BLS
ACLS
Chemotherapy certification – ONS/ONCC

Required Clinical Experience

Acute leukemia / blood dyscrasias
Inpatient oncology
Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
IV therapy and infusions
Administration of blood and blood products
Central line/port/PICC care
Central line blood draws
Oncologic emergencies
Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS)
Sepsis
Antibiotic administration
Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
Dysrhythmia interpretation
Post-chemotherapy body-fluid handling

Preferred

NIHSS
Experience with lymphoma/Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
Experience with multiple myeloma
Starting and maintaining IVs

Unit Environment

24-bed acute leukemia unit
High volume of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte replacement
Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
GE B450 telemetry monitors
Alaris pumps
Stryker beds
Bladder scanner

Pay: $68.00 - $70.00 per hour
