Bilingual Community Manager – Operations & Customer Service
$20–$27/hour | Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Columbus, OH 43229 | In-Person
Spanish/English Required
Take Your Management Experience Into a New Industry
Are you an experienced manager who knows how to lead people, take care of customers, solve problems, and keep a busy operation running?
You may have built your career in retail, restaurants, hospitality, sales, customer service, banking, office management, or another service-oriented business — and you're ready for a new challenge.
You do not need previous property management experience.
Alpha Management is looking for a bilingual Spanish/English Community Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of our apartment communities in Columbus.
We're looking for someone who has already demonstrated the ability to take ownership of an operation. We'll teach you the property management industry.
The Opportunity
As Community Manager, you'll essentially run the day-to-day business of an apartment community.
You'll be responsible for the resident experience, leasing performance, collections, property appearance, maintenance coordination, vendors, and overall operation of the community.
You'll have significant independence and responsibility, with support from our broader management team.
If you've successfully managed a store, restaurant, hotel, office, sales team, branch, or other customer-facing operation, many of the skills you've developed transfer directly to this position.
What You'll OwnResidents & Customer Service
- Build strong relationships with residents and create a positive community experience
- Handle resident questions, concerns, and escalations professionally
- Resolve problems and follow through until they're completed
- Oversee move-ins, renewals, and move-outs
Leasing & Revenue
- Oversee leasing activity and apartment availability
- Respond to and follow up with prospective residents
- Monitor leads, applications, occupancy, and renewals
- Review resident accounts and follow up on delinquent balances
- Identify opportunities to improve leasing and property performance
Property Operations
- Oversee the daily operation and appearance of the community
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel and outside vendors
- Inspect apartments and common areas
- Make sure vacant apartments are prepared for incoming residents
- Prioritize maintenance and operational needs
- Track projects and make sure commitments are completed
Organization & Accountability
- Maintain accurate resident and property records
- Use AppFolio to manage property information and reporting
- Monitor deadlines and follow through on open items
- Communicate property performance, challenges, and priorities to leadership
- Take ownership of problems rather than waiting for someone else to solve them
Who We're Looking For
Property management experience is welcome, but it is NOT required.
We're particularly interested in people who have successfully managed a busy customer-facing operation.
Your background might include:

- Retail Store Manager
- Hotel or Hospitality Manager
- Branch Manager
- Sales Manager
- Customer Service Manager
- Office Manager
- Operations Manager
- Banking or Financial Services
- Automotive Service Management
- Other customer-facing management roles
The industry you've worked in matters less to us than what you've accomplished there.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
We're looking for someone who:
- Is fluent in Spanish and English
- Has previous management, supervisory, or significant operational responsibility
- Takes ownership and doesn't need constant direction
- Is confident dealing with customers and difficult situations
- Knows how to prioritize when several things need attention at once
- Is comfortable holding people accountable
- Understands that customer service and business results both matter
- Is comfortable discussing money and following up on unpaid balances
- Has strong sales and communication skills
- Is organized and follows through
- Can learn new technology and business processes quickly
- Makes good decisions and knows when to ask for help
What You Don't Need
You don't need to have spent the last five years managing apartment communities.
You don't need to already know AppFolio.
You don't need to come from the real estate industry.
We can teach property management. We're looking for someone who already knows how to manage.
Compensation
$21.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Full-time, Monday–Friday.

Ready for Something Different?
Maybe you've spent years successfully running a restaurant, retail store, hotel, branch, or service business.
You've learned how to manage customers, employees, sales goals, difficult conversations, deadlines, and unexpected problems.
Now you're ready to apply those skills somewhere new.
If you already know how to manage a business operation, we'll teach you how to manage an apartment community.
We'd like to hear from you.
