Job Title: Medical Billing Associate

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary: $20 to $22.5 per hour

Job Overview:

A Medical Billing Associate plays a crucial role in healthcare facilities by ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical bills and insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of medical billing procedures.

Responsibilities:

Review and verify accuracy of billing and claims submissions
Follow up with insurance companies and patients on unpaid or denied claims
Process payments received and update billing records accordingly
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries
Stay up to date on changes in billing regulations and coding practices

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
Proven experience in medical billing and coding
Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, medical terminology, and coding procedures (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
