Full Job Description

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to help ensure accurate and efficient operations in the accounting department. This position will require strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail. The Accounting Assistant will be required to work toward goals independently while also being an integral part of the Accounting team. This position will require dependability, confidentiality and ability to prioritize the needs of the department.

Duties to include sorting and distributing mail, printing, scanning and filing paperwork, working with purchase orders and receiving, entering data into spreadsheets, emailing statements and correspondence as needed and varied other tasks of a similar nature.

Applicant must have some experience with Excel and Word as well as a proven and verifiable record of dependability.

Required Duties:

· Maintain vendor files and correspondence as required including paper and electronic files.

· Review sort and prepare invoices for entry.

· Voucher/verify receivers for invoices as needed.

· Assist with assembling check payments with paperwork, sorting and preparing checks for mail.

· Maintain files for vendors and expenses.

· Confirm receiving for all customer trades and purchases and maintain filing.

· Match receivers for drop ship orders and returns to the corresponding invoices and research issues.

· Maintain filing system for tracking employee credit card use to include organizing receipts and creating digital files.

· Format and edit raw data for credit card purchases into the required Excel format.

· Create and send customer statements monthly and maintain electronic files.

· Download and email customer invoice copies as needed.

· Scan and send invoice copies to retail customers and maintain files.

· Assist with tracking daily till discrepancies and corrections.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

· High school diploma/GED required.

· Self-directed and the ability to work in a team dynamic.

· The ability to prioritize work and utilize good time management skills.

· Basic computer skills. Experience with Excel and Word is required.

· Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· High level of organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

· Proven dependability

Desired Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of administrative office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

· 1-2 years of experience working as an accounting assistant or bookkeeper.

· Experience using Counterpoint software, or other point of sale/inventory management software is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand, and finger dexterity. The ability to grasp and lift up to 20 pounds, is also required.

Working Environment:

· This position will not require travel outside of the Columbus metropolitan area.

· This position will work in an office and a warehouse environment.

· This position will include working at a computer, sitting at a desk, answering phone calls and emails up to 90% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
