Full Job Description

The academic coach will serve as part of Imagine School's (campus to be determined) leadership team, providing ongoing professional development for teaching staff. The academic coach will:

Provide support to the principal in data analysis and professional development decision-making.
Be very knowledgeable of the science of reading approach to teaching reading based upon the science of cognitive development.
Provide professional development and guidance for teachers to improve their content knowledge and effective delivery of instructional strategies that meets individual teqachers at their current place and motivates them to take ownership of their personal/ professional growth.
Coaches teaching staff on the creation and development of effective, standard-aligned lesson plans, scope and sequence etc.
Build the capacity of the school and its teachers to meet the learning needs of all students.
Ensure that school staff acquires the understanding and skills to enhance instructional practices at the classroom level. The coach understands and utilizes academic performance data to raise the level of the student academic achievement.
Assist with the development and writing of the School Excellence Plan supported by a yearlong aligned professional development plan.
Perform other functions as per operational needs as directed by the principal.

Qualifications:

Must have current Ohio educator licensure.
Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience.
Must have leadership experience (team leader, committee chair, department head, etc.)
Must have effective written and verbal skills.
Must have good work habits, including effective follow-through, ability to meet deadlines, and regular attendance and good punctuality.
Master's degree in Education is required.
Reading Endorsement or other higher level Reading/ Math experience/ credentials is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,500.00 per year
