UNION WORKERS PREFERRED
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROVISION OF VARIOUS SCOPES OF WORK INCLUDING MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC, ROADWAY SIGNAGE INSTALLATION, FENCE REPAIR AND INSTALLATION AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED ACTIVITIES.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1.
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL WHICH MAY INCLUDE FLAGGING, WORKZONE SETUP AND REMOVAL, AND INSTALLATION OF VARIOUS HIGHWAY SAFETY DEVICES.
2.
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TASKS RELATED TO SIGNAGE INSTALLATION, WHICH MAY INCLUDE THE PERMANENT OR TEMPORARY PLACEMENT OF VARIOUS REGULATORY SIGNAGE AND THE MOUNTING OF POSTS FOR INSTALLATION.
3.
WILL SUPPORT GENERAL SITE LABOR INCLUDING MATERIAL HANDLING AND SITE CLEANUP AND MAINTENANCE.
4.
WILL BE REQUIRED TO CROSS TRAIN AND BECOME PROFICIENT IN OTHER SCOPES OF WORK THAT MAY INCLUDE FENCE INSTALLATION, TEMPORARY PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND GUARDRAIL INSTALLATION.
5.
WILL ASSIST IN INVENTORY CYCLE COUNTS AS REQUIRED AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF MATERIALS FOR USE ON PROJECTS.
6.
WILL MAINTAIN ALL HAZARDOUS AND WASTE MATERIALS IN AN ORGANIZED AND APPROPRIATE LOCATION WITH PROPER ADHERENCE TO ALL LOCAL, FEDERAL, AND STATE REGULATIONS AS INSTRUCTED BY SAFETY.
7.
WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOADING CUSTOMER ORDERS AND PROCESSING SHIPMENTS.
8.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE MISTAKES IS CRITICAL TO SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB.
9.
ADHERENCE TO ALL COMPANY SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, COMPANY POLICIES, APPLICABLE LAWS.AND REPORTING ANY POTENTIAL UNSAFE CONDITIONS TO SUPERVISOR.
10.
MUST ASSIST MECHANICS, LABORERS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF STAFF AS REQUIRED.
11.
WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AS BUSINESS DICTATES.
12.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
QUALIFICATIONS
TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND/OR ABLILITY REQUIRED. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT. AT LEAST 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.
KNOWLEDGE
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CONSTRUCTION; HAND AND POWER TOOLS, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
ABILITY TO RESPOND TO COMMON INQUIRIES OR COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS, REGULATORY AGENCIES, OR MEMBERS OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY. ABILITY TO EFFECTIVELY PRESENT INFORMATION TO MANAGEMENT, CUSTOMERS AND COWORKERS.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
ABILITY TO WORK WITH MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS SUCH AS PROBABILTY AND STATISTICAL INFERENCE. ABILITY TO APPLY CONCEPTS SUCH AS FRACTIONS, PERCENTAGES, RATIOS, AND PROPORTIONS TO PRACTICAL SITUATIONS.
COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS
WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT OFFICE WITH STRONG FOCUS ON MICROSOFT WORD, MICROSOFT EXCEL, MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, AND THE INTERNET.
REASONING ABILITY
ABILITY TO DEFINE PROBLEMS, COLLECT DATA, ESTABLISH FACTS, AND DRAW VALID CONCLUSIONS. ABILITY TO INTERPRET AN EXTENSIVE VARIETY OF TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS IN MATHEMATICAL OR DIAGRAM FORM AND DEAL WITH SEVERAL ABSTRACT AND CONCRETE VARIABLES.
