We are currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to support our growing manufacturing operations.

Position Overview:
Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying that fabricated metal parts and assemblies meet the required specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards. This role ensures product quality by performing measurements, documenting results, identifying defects, and working closely with production teams to resolve issues.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (welding, forming, cutting, machining).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical drawings.

Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection instruments.

Understanding of common metal alloys and material properties. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred. 13+ years of quality control experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
Certifications (preferred but not required):
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) o
ASQ Quality Technician (CQT)
NDT certifications (VT, MT, PT)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift 2550 lbs as needed.
Comfortable working in a shop environment around welding, cutting, and heavy machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Inspection
Perform incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspections on metal components and finished products.
Compare parts to engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, bore gauges, and weld gauges.
Inspect welds for conformity with AWS, ASME, or company standards.
Testing & Verification
Conduct functional and mechanical tests (e.g., hardness testing, load tests).
Verify that fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, machining) meet required tolerances.
Perform material identification and verify material certifications.
Documentation & Reporting
Record inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions in quality logs or digital systems.
Maintain accurate documentation such as inspection reports, NCRs, and first-article inspection reports (FAIRs).
Work with supervisors and engineers to communicate quality issues clearly and promptly.
Quality Systems & Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and industry standards such as ISO9001.
Participate in continuous improvement activities (5S, Lean, Kaizen).e Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Collaboration

Work closely with welders, machinists, engineers, and production staff to resolve defects.

Provide feedback and training on quality best practices when needed.

Assist in developing and improving inspection procedures.
The employee will be required to continually sit, occasionally standing, bending, stooping, and walking during the entire shift and occasionally lift over twenty-five (25) pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability
to focus.
The employee is exposed to above average noise levels.
Offered compensation: $24/hr - $26/hr
