Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil & Foundation Construction

As we continue to grow our foundation, transmission, substation, and civil construction capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Marysville, Ohio.
This is an opportunity for an experienced construction estimator to play a key role not only in project pursuits and preconstruction, but also in helping shape and strengthen Parks Drilling Company's estimating function.
Position Summary:
The Senior Estimator will lead estimating efforts across drilled foundation, transmission, substation, heavy civil, and site development projects.
This position will work closely with executive leadership, Project Managers, Operations, Superintendents, field teams, Safety, Accounting, and customers to develop accurate and competitive estimates, evaluate project risk, improve estimating processes, and ensure successful handoff from estimating to project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead detailed estimates for drilled shaft, transmission line and substation foundations
- Estimate concrete foundations, flatwork and below-grade substation construction
- Develop estimates for heavy civil and site development scopes, including earthwork, grading, access roads, duct banks, utilities, stormwater infrastructure and SWPPP-related work
- Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, environmental requirements and contract documents
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, labor calculations, equipment requirements, material pricing, subcontractor scopes, risk assessments and proposal narratives
- Evaluate constructability issues involving soil conditions, groundwater, site access, specialty drilling equipment, reinforcing steel and concrete placement
- Participate in customer meetings, pre-bid meetings, site walks and bid strategy discussions
- Develop and maintain estimating templates, production units and estimating standards
- Track estimated versus actual labor hours, production rates, equipment utilization and final project results
- Develop and maintain historical production, cost, pricing and bid win/loss data
- Partner with Project Managers, Operations, Superintendents and field leadership to validate estimating assumptions
- Support a structured estimating-to-project handoff process
- Participate in estimate reviews, project kickoffs, lessons-learned meetings and post-project evaluations
- Develop repeatable estimating procedures, workflows and quality-control measures
- Assist with recruiting, training and mentoring future estimating personnel
- Identify technology and process improvements that increase estimating accuracy and efficiency
- Support executive leadership with strategic growth initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of construction estimating experience
- Proven experience estimating complex, large-scale construction projects
- Experience estimating drilled shaft foundations, concrete foundations, heavy civil construction and/or site development
- Experience within utility, energy, transmission, substation, industrial or infrastructure construction
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods
- Strong understanding of constructability and project risk analysis
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, geotechnical reports and contract documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, Project Management and field Operations
Preferred Experience:
- Electrical transmission and substation construction
- Drilled shaft and specialty foundation construction
- SWPPP and stormwater-control scopes
- Design-build and EPC contracts
- Historical production and cost database development
- Managing or mentoring estimators
Technical Skills:
- Bluebeam
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Project
- ERP and project cost-tracking software
- Construction estimating platforms
- Experience utilizing AI and emerging technology within estimating or construction operations is a plus
Equivalent estimating software experience will be considered.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $122,200.00 per year
