Join our premier, independent gastroenterology Ambulatory Surgery Center in Hilliard, OH, a vibrant Columbus suburb known for its thriving community and urban amenities. At Hilliard Endo Center, attached to our GI clinic, we deliver cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic services with a patient-first approach. Our team of 2 physicians, 2 Nurse Practitioners, and dedicated staff fosters a collaborative, encouraging culture where every member thrives. As an Endoscopy Technician, you’ll play a critical role in our modern endoscopy center, supporting exceptional patient care while growing professionally in a dynamic, independent practice.

Overview

As an Endoscopy Technician at Hilliard Endo Center, you will assist physicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality gastroenterology procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This role combines technical expertise, patient care, and teamwork to ensure smooth operations and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Procedure Support: Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, by preparing and maintaining equipment, handling specimens and scope cleaning.
Equipment Management: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related equipment according to infection control protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Patient Care: Provide pre- and post-procedure support to patients, including explaining procedures, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available for procedures.
Documentation: Accurately document procedure details, patient interactions, and equipment maintenance in compliance with regulatory standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient workflow and high standards of care.
Process Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Availability: Must be available to work 2 Saturdays per month to support procedure schedules.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technologist program preferred. Certification (e.g., CBSPD, SGNA, or equivalent) is a plus. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician or in a similar clinical role, preferably in a gastroenterology or surgical setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in handling endoscopic equipment, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols.
Patient-Centered Care: Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with a small, tight-knit team in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Precision in documentation, equipment handling, and adherence to safety protocols.
Adaptability: Comfort with a dynamic role that includes patient care, technical tasks, and occasional administrative duties.
