Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Sales & Business Development Associate is responsible for driving new revenue growth for Gourmet Fresh Catering through inbound lead management, outbound business development, corporate relationship building, and brand promotion. This role owns the sales pipeline from first contact through contract execution and works cross-functionally with Culinary and Operations to ensure successful event execution.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position is accountable for measurable revenue growth, recurring corporate business development, and expanding Gourmet Fresh’s outside catering footprint.

Core Expectations

Respond promptly to all outside catering inquiries.
Network actively for new business in the Greater Columbus market.
Cold call and prospect for business based on an agreed-upon target list.
Coordinate with the marketing department on strategy, execution, and content.
Manage LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media to promote Gourmet Fresh and drive catering leads.
Develop and grow outside catering revenue in alignment with agreed-upon goals and plans.

Responsibilities for Candidate

Inbound Sales Management

Respond promptly to inbound catering inquiries.
Conduct discovery calls to understand client needs.
Build and present proposals tailored to client requirements.
Follow up consistently to close business.
Track conversion rates and sales activity.
Maintain TripleSeat accuracy.
Collaborate with the CES team to answer client questions, support upselling, and maintain client satisfaction.

Outbound Business Development

Identify and target prospective corporate clients.
Conduct cold outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn.
Schedule in-person meetings and presentations.
Build partnerships with office managers, HR teams, and event planners.
Develop recurring lunch, meeting, and corporate catering accounts.
Track outbound activity and progress weekly.

Corporate Relationship Development

Build long-term, recurring revenue accounts.
Conduct site visits and client meetings.
Develop quarterly catering plans for businesses.
Identify upsell opportunities, including holiday events and executive meetings.
Maintain regular check-ins with key accounts.
Coordinate with Operations to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.

Brand Promotion & Market Presence

Represent Gourmet Fresh at networking events and showcases.
Build referral relationships with venues, planners, and corporate leaders.
Serve as primary point of contact with the marketing department on strategy and execution.
Manage LinkedIn and other social channels to drive brand awareness and generate catering leads.
Support brand storytelling, content campaigns, and promotional initiatives.

Requirements for Candidate

2–5 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in catering, hospitality, or event services.
Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and close new business.
Strong relationship-building and client management skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across Culinary and Operations teams.
Comfortable with cold outreach, networking, and prospecting.
Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., TripleSeat) and sales tracking.
Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

Salary & Benefits Information

Salary: $54,000 annually + 5% commission on associate-generated outside catering revenue
Schedule: Mon – Fri with weekend flexibility when necessary
