Experienced House Cleaner – Independent Contractor
$30–$35/hour equivalent + additional earning opportunities
Sure Thing Cleaning is a growing local residential cleaning company serving Columbus and surrounding communities. We’re looking for experienced, dependable professional house cleaners who take pride in their work, communicate well, and consistently deliver a great experience for clients.
This is an independent contractor opportunity, not a W-2 employee position. Contractors can set their availability and indicate the Columbus-area communities they prefer to serve, while Sure Thing Cleaning handles customer acquisition, booking, scheduling support, and client communication.

What we’re looking for:
We’re especially interested in cleaners who already know how to professionally clean homes efficiently and to a high standard.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of professional residential cleaning experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of professional cleaning methods, products, equipment, and appropriate products for different household surfaces
- Ability to provide your own professional cleaning supplies and equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently complete scheduled cleanings
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Positive, professional attitude
- Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Smartphone and comfort using an app for scheduling and cleaning information
- Willingness to meet Sure Thing Cleaning’s insurance requirements before onboarding
- Willingness to complete a background check
Service area requirement: Cleanings take place at customer homes throughout Columbus and nearby suburbs, including Westerville, Worthington, New Albany, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Lewis Center, Powell, and Dublin. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling throughout these areas. Travel time is not paid separately.
Individual contractor requirement: Sure Thing Cleaning approves contractors individually. You must personally complete every cleaning you accept on your schedule. Employees, crews, helpers, partners, and substitutes may not attend or complete the cleaning on your behalf.
How the opportunity works:
Each cleaning has a fixed total payout disclosed in advance. Jobs, hours, and income are not guaranteed, and available opportunities depend on customer demand, location, your stated availability and service areas, and Sure Thing Cleaning’s current needs.
New contractors begin with a gradual ramp-up period while quality, reliability, communication, and overall fit are established. Strong performance may lead to additional and recurring cleaning opportunities and increased per-job payouts over time.
