Store Manager / Service Advisor – Reynoldsburg
Do you naturally take ownership when you're responsible for something?
When you walk into a business, do you notice what's working, what's disorganized, who's performing, and what needs to be fixed?
Do you like clear goals, measurable results, defined standards, and the authority to make things happen? Are you comfortable holding yourself and others accountable—and do you get frustrated when problems are discussed repeatedly instead of actually being solved?
If you're organized, decisive, competitive, detail-conscious, and take pride in running a tight operation, this may be the opportunity you're looking for.
Stringer Auto Repair is looking for a Store Manager / Service Advisor for our Reynoldsburg location.
This is not a position for someone who wants to sit in an office and supervise.
You will lead the store, and you will be an active part of producing its results.
What You'll Own
As Store Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day operation of the Reynoldsburg location.
That includes:
- Sales and gross profit
- Customer experience
- Shop workflow and productivity
- Service advisor performance
- Technician productivity
- Employee accountability
- Training and development
- Parts and inventory processes
- Shop organization and cleanliness
- Customer concerns
- Daily KPI performance
- Following company processes and standards
When the store performs well, you'll know why.
When it doesn't, we'll expect you to figure out why—and do something about it.
This Is Also a Working Service Advisor Position
You'll be expected to lead from the front.
Depending on staffing and daily volume, you'll personally:
- Answer incoming calls
- Schedule customers
- Write repair orders
- Accurately document customer concerns
- Review digital vehicle inspections
- Build and present estimates
- Explain technician recommendations
- Sell necessary repairs and maintenance
- Follow up on declined work
- Keep customers informed
- Handle difficult customer situations
- Coordinate with technicians and parts
- Keep work moving through the shop
- Follow repairs from drop-off through completion
You should be comfortable looking a customer in the eye, explaining a several-thousand-dollar repair, answering their questions, and confidently asking for authorization.
We don't believe in high-pressure sales.
We do believe in clear recommendations, confident communication, and asking for the sale.
You'll Probably Thrive Here If...
You naturally:
- Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
- Like having responsibility and authority
- Set high standards for yourself
- Expect people to do what they say they're going to do
- Notice inefficiency and want to correct it
- Pay attention to numbers and measurable results
- Like knowing where the business stands
- Are comfortable making decisions
- Can have difficult conversations when necessary
- Don't avoid accountability because it might make someone uncomfortable
- Like organized systems and clearly defined processes
- Follow up until something is actually completed
- Can move quickly without becoming careless
- Want to understand why a number is up or down
- Prefer solving problems over explaining why they happened
- Can balance taking care of employees with holding them accountable
- Take pride in building a team that performs without constant supervision
If something isn't working, we don't want a manager who simply works around it.
We want someone who fixes it.
You Will Manage by the Numbers
We believe a manager should know how their store is performing before someone has to tell them.
You'll be expected to understand and manage key performance indicators including:
- Car count
- Average Repair Order
- Technician quote
- Close ratio
- Gross profit dollars
- Gross profit percentage
- Gross profit per hour
- Sales
- Technician productivity
- Comeback ratio
- Workflow and work-in-process
You don't have to stare at spreadsheets all day.
But you do need to understand what the numbers are telling you and take action when something isn't where it should be.
Leadership Means Accountability
We want to create a great place to work.
That doesn't mean avoiding difficult conversations.
The Store Manager is responsible for establishing expectations, recognizing good performance, coaching employees when improvement is needed, documenting issues appropriately, and addressing problems before they become bigger problems.
You will be expected to:
- Set clear expectations
- Train employees
- Follow up
- Recognize strong performance
- Coach when standards aren't being met
- Conduct performance conversations
- Document employee issues when necessary
- Help develop your team
- Protect the culture of the company
Good employees should know when they're doing a great job.
Employees who aren't meeting expectations should know exactly what needs to change.
We Have Processes for a Reason
We're not looking for someone to reinvent the company during their first week.
Stringer Auto Repair has established processes for how we answer phones, schedule vehicles, perform inspections, communicate with customers, sell work, manage workflow, document repairs, follow up with customers, and measure performance.
We expect our manager to learn those systems, enforce them, identify weaknesses, and help us improve them when there's a better way.
There's a big difference between improving a process and ignoring one.
We want a manager who understands that difference.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Reynoldsburg Store Manager creates a shop where:
Customers know what's happening.
Technicians know what they're working on next.
Employees know what's expected of them.
The workflow board reflects reality.
Problems get addressed quickly.
The building and property are clean and organized.
The numbers are known and managed.
The team performs even when the owner isn't standing in the building.
And most importantly:
The manager takes ownership of the result.
