The Front Desk Administrative Assistant manages the reception area, welcomes visitors, handles phone calls, assists students as needed, and performs daily office tasks and recordkeeping as assigned. With a friendly and professional customer service attitude, strong organizational abilities, clear communication skills, sharp attention to details, good time management, and solid computer proficiency, the Front Desk Administrative Assistant is an important part of the administrative team. The Front Desk Administrative Assistant models Christian character and integrates biblical values into relationships and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide a consistently welcoming presence at the school’s front desk
● Monitor main school entrance and exit, allowing access to building as appropriate
● Assist visitors in registering their presence in the building
● Organize and maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming entry environment
● Confirm K-5 attendance and contact parents in case of absences
● Enter, update, and track student information electronically, including into FACTS
● Track student pickup information
● Provide required lunch information to the kitchen
● Post lunch menus in RenWeb and send out reminders to parents/guardians
● Track club enrollments
● Assist with clerical tasks as assigned.
● Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
● Encourage positive behavior, responsibility, and respectful interactions among students and adults.
● Send communications provided by supervisors or designees
● Update the CCCS website
● Request student medical records
● Store and administer student medications
● Provide coverage of Office Manager’s station, as needed
● Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies and procedures.
● Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
● Support school events and special activities as needed.
● Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
● Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
● Support the mission, vision, and statement of faith of the school in all aspects of professional practice.
Qualifications
● Minimum one year experience as an administrative assistant or school clerk
● Associate degree or college coursework preferred
● Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, church, or recreational setting preferred
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, data management, website/content management systems, and communication platforms
● Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
● Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and agreement with the mission, values, and beliefs of Central College Presbyterian Church and Central College Christian School
● Agreement with the school’s mission, values, and Statement of Faith
Work Schedule and Environment
This position is full-time. Regular, dependable, in-person attendance is an essential function of the Employee’s position. During the school year, standard working hours will typically be from 7:40 am to 3:40 pm, Monday through Friday. Training and meeting requirements may fall outside of regular work hours. The Front Desk Administrative Assistant may be expected to attend school events, parent conferences, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities throughout the school year.
Work hours continue for five work days after the end of the K-5 school year and resume 19 work days prior to the K-5 students’ return for the new school year. Due to the structure of the annual work schedule, there are no vacation days attached to this position.
Work Relationships and Expectations
This position works closely with administrators, teachers, and staff to support the effective, efficient operation of the school. The Front Desk Administrative Assistant is expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a servant-hearted attitude while contributing to the spiritual and academic life of the school community. The Front Desk Administrative Assistant will:
● Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning and development.
● Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives, as needed.
● Support and uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations.
● Attend school-sponsored events and activities, as required.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Staff members should actively support the mission of Central College Christian School to partner with families in providing a Christ-centered education that develops students academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
Pay: $28,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
