Full Job Description

Job Summary

RDI is seeking a Systems Administrator III to support and maintain the organization's enterprise infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is responsible for the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers, virtualization platforms, networking equipment, security appliances, messaging systems, and supporting technologies.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional capable of independently resolving complex infrastructure issues, executing projects, supporting system upgrades, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in both remote and on-site environments.

Key Responsibilities

Server and Systems Administration

Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Manage Active Directory users, groups, organizational units, and Group Policy.
Perform server patching, updates, and maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot operating system, application, and infrastructure issues.
Assist with server migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle replacement projects.
Manage file shares, NTFS permissions, and access control configurations.
Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Virtualization

Deploy, configure, and maintain virtual infrastructure platforms including VMware vSphere and Proxmox VE.
Provision and manage virtual machines and associated resources.
Monitor virtualization performance and capacity utilization.
Assist with virtualization platform migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Messaging and Collaboration

Administer Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 environments.
Manage mailboxes, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, and messaging services.
Utilize Exchange Management Shell and PowerShell for administration and troubleshooting.

Networking and Security

Support Cisco switching environments and network infrastructure.
Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, and SD-WAN connectivity issues.
Assist with firewall administration, policy management, and VPN configuration.
Support Sophos firewall environments and related security technologies.
Work with telecommunications providers during circuit installations and service outages.

Application Support

Perform user administration and access management within third-party applications.
Support application upgrades and maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot application connectivity and infrastructure-related issues.

Project Participation

Participate in infrastructure projects and technology deployments.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to complete assigned initiatives.
Maintain project documentation and provide status updates.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
Strong experience with Windows Server administration.
Experience managing Active Directory environments.
Experience supporting virtualization platforms such as VMware or Proxmox.
Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience supporting firewalls, VPNs, and network security technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with vendors and service providers.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Operational Expectations

Participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
Perform maintenance activities during approved after-hours maintenance windows.
Travel periodically to support RDI locations and infrastructure projects.
Maintain accurate technical documentation.
Work independently while effectively communicating with remote team members.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Proxmox VE administration experience.
VMware vSphere administration experience.
PowerShell scripting experience.
Sophos Firewall administration experience.
Cisco switching and routing experience.
SD-WAN experience.
Backup and disaster recovery experience.
Security and compliance experience.

Work Environment

Hybrid remote and on-site work environment.
Periodic travel to RDI facilities.
Participation in planned maintenance and on-call support activities.

Pay: $73,868.12 - $85,000.00 per year
