We're looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoys leading by example, and is committed to delivering an exceptional remodeling experience. This is a working leadership role where you'll spend time both on the tools and guiding your crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our clients expect.
As our Lead Carpenter, you'll play a key role in bringing our remodeling projects to life while providing leadership in the field.
Lead the Job Site

Lead and coordinate carpentry crews on residential remodeling projects.

Assign daily tasks and keep projects moving according to schedule.

Mentor apprentice and junior carpenters, helping them develop their technical skills and workmanship.

Foster a safe, productive, and professional job site culture.
Deliver Exceptional Craftsmanship

Perform framing, cabinetry installation, trim carpentry, finish work, and other skilled carpentry tasks.

Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.

Ensure all work meets design intent, building codes, and Pat Scales Remodeling's quality standards.

Troubleshoot construction challenges and develop practical field solutions.

Meet with inspectors as needed throughout the project.
Coordinate Project Success

Work closely with Project Managers, Production Managers, subcontractors, and trade partners.

Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and used efficiently.

Maintain accurate job site documentation, including labor hours and material usage.

Help keep projects organized, on schedule, and running smoothly.
Maintain Quality & Safety

Inspect work to ensure superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies.

Identify and resolve issues before they impact project schedules or quality.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
The ideal candidate is an experienced residential carpenter who enjoys leading others while remaining hands-on in the field.
Required Qualifications

Five or more years of residential carpentry, remodeling, or construction experience.

Previous experience leading carpentry crews or supervising field teams.

Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and remodeling practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Working knowledge of building codes and job site safety requirements.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between job sites.

Smartphone for project communication and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications

Technical training or certification in carpentry or construction.

Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software.
