Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week. Flexibility required between 8am-5pm Monday – Friday, and occasional Saturdays 9am-1pm. Time off provided during the week when working a Saturday.

POSITION SUMMARY: Prepare and process loan documents in accordance with loan officers’ directions and approved loan agreements. Take member loan applications and cross-sell other services. Review new loan documents, verify the accuracy of the loan document process and complete loan files. Examine documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with existing underwriting and regulatory guidelines as part of quality control procedures. Scan all loan files. Develop and strengthen a positive and professional relationship with auto dealerships. This position is a back up to other functions in the Lending Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist as a primary source for funding applications for loan officers

Provide back-up support for processing payments and our payoff checks when needed

Track and monitor home equity loan files closed by all loan officers as part of our quality control process, including mortgage recordings

Assist as primary source for all home equity mortgage releases

Become efficient in assisting with sending electronic documents though DocuSign
-
Assist and support loan officers for lienholder verification and insurance policies for home equity loans

Assist and support Lending Department with payoff requests, credit verifications, verification of employment requests, lien releases and auditing retrieval when needed

Direct applications from BMI FCU’s online banking platform for loan officers to process

Quality check applications processed by loan officers

Assist title processor with regards to title releases and updates through the collateral management system when necessary

Process and order Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) checks for members through integrated payment solutions
-
Assist with research and resolution of any indirect loan related processing issues and provide management with periodic reports regarding status of compliance and funded loans

Answer incoming calls from Lending Department and members as well as corresponding by e-mail through BMI FCU’s website, and respond to members’ requests by sending letters, credit union literature, or brochures about products, services, and fees

Maintain current and complete files; sort, file, locate and retrieve materials
-
Review and respond to resolutions of loan related issues
-
Convert non-member loan applications to new membership accounts
-
File loan documents with appropriate agencies
-
Identify and take action to improve the department’s operating methods and procedures
-
Take member loan applications and prepare them for review by a loan officer, and follow up with loan officer to determine status and cross-sell other services
-
As needed, process and fund indirect loan packages and ensure accuracy for all closed loans by auditing files, ensuring system set-up is accurate, all required documents are complete and correct, and funds disbursed accurately

Assist with scanning documents in a timely fashion for indirect and all other areas within the Lending Department

As needed, communicate via dealer portal, for approved loan documents, quality control, funding, and compliance issues; obtain additional information based on requirements with dealer staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Support inbound dealer calls and assist with contacting dealers to follow up on deals

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

1-3 years of lending and customer service experience required

Exceptional customer service skills

Knowledge of title work and lien fillings

Proficient in Microsoft Office with competencies in Excel, general computer programs, and general office equipment

Up-to-date knowledge of underwriting guidelines including requirements, procedures, and criteria

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
