Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting processes. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities for the facility, including financial planning, budgeting, month-end and year-end close processes, compliance with U.S. GAAP and JSOX/SOX requirements, and the implementation of sound accounting practices and internal controls. Key areas of responsibility include general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

This position serves as a key business partner to North American Accounting Leadership and local management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, and seamless consolidation of financial results across the organization. The Accounting Manager supports all departments by providing financial guidance, budgeting support, and process improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and business performance.

Duties

Develop, implement, and manage departmental objectives, strategies, and business plans aligned with organizational goals.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and reporting to management.
Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to executive leadership.
Coordinate and lead external financial audits, internal audits, and internal control assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, capitalization policies, and annual physical inventories.
Perform monthly and quarterly inventory analysis and reconciliation, including valuation, adjustments, in-transit inventory, shipments, and receipts to support accurate financial reporting.
Develop and maintain labor costing methodologies and product costing models to support operational and financial decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of sales pricing data and related financial information within the C-Core system.
Prepare and analyze monthly profitability reports by product model and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes within a manufacturing environment.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and JSOX/SOX requirements.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, HR, and other departments to support business objectives and financial initiatives.
Supervise, coach, and develop accounting personnel by providing leadership, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience preferred.
Experience with financial audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience with ERP systems; Great Plains and C-Core experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks (SOX/JSOX).
Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, inventory accounting, and cost accounting methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable recommendations to management.
Effective leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
