ProScan Imaging is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist Aide for the Columbus region. The schedule for this position is 4 - 10 hour shifts per week with a Saturday rotation once a month, no holidays required.
General Description:
Under the direction of the Site Manager and MRI Technologist, this employee performs various medical and imaging support duties of a routine and recurring nature, including but not limited to patient relations, patient care, patient safety, preparation for MRI examinations, and general imaging center support.
Individuals assigned to this position will assist the MRI Technologist with patient preparation, room preparation, patient positioning and transport, and other duties associated with the safe and efficient operation of the MRI department. The MRI Technologist Aide does not independently perform MRI examinations or other duties requiring a professional imaging license or certification unless specifically permitted by applicable law and company policy.
Individuals assigned to this position will normally perform duties according to established company procedures and practices and under the direction and supervision of the MRI Technologist and Site Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level:

Safety Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding MR safety and OSHA.
- Complete required MR safety screening procedures as directed and within the scope of the position.
- Ensure that patients and visitors do not enter restricted MRI areas without appropriate screening and authorization.
- Maintain awareness of the MRI environment and immediately report any safety concerns to the MRI Technologist or Site Manager.
- Execute timely completion of incident reporting when accidents or adverse events occur.
Patient Care:
- Be familiar with and adhere to all company policies pertaining to HIPAA and deliver services in a manner that ensures patient privacy.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all imaging center policies and procedures governing patient care and general practices in the center.
- Assist with patient check-in, preparation, and general needs as directed.
- Assist patients with changing, preparation, and positioning for MRI examinations.
- Educate patients regarding general examination preparation and what to expect during the imaging process, within the scope of the position.
- Assist patients using proper transfer, lifting, and body mechanics techniques throughout the imaging facility, including assisting with patient movement to and from the MRI area.
- Provide appropriate assistance and support to patients based on their age, medical condition, and individual needs.
- Communicate patient concerns, changes in condition, or other pertinent information to the MRI Technologist or Site Manager.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the patient's visit.
MRI Department and Technical Support:
- Prepare MRI examination rooms and equipment for scheduled procedures under the direction of the MRI Technologist.
- Assist the MRI Technologist with patient positioning and preparation for examinations.
- Ensure that necessary supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining the MRI room and associated patient-care areas according to company procedures.
- Assist with stocking and inventory of MRI supplies.
- Assist the MRI Technologist with maintaining an efficient patient flow throughout the imaging process.
- Verify patient information and examination documentation as directed.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining required patient documentation.
- Perform only those duties within the scope of training, company policy, and applicable regulations.
- Immediately report equipment concerns, patient safety concerns, or other issues to the MRI Technologist or Site Manager.
Customer Service:
- Be familiar with and adhere to all standards set by the Company for customer service.
- Actively consider the comfort, privacy, and safety of every patient or visitor to the company.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients, family members, physicians, and coworkers.
- Promptly report customer complaints to the Site Manager.
- Offer every patient the opportunity to complete a satisfaction survey and return that survey to corporate staff in a confidential manner.
Professional Development:
- Complete all required company training, including applicable MRI safety training.
- Maintain required certifications, training, and competencies associated with the position.
- Participate in additional training as directed by the Company.
- Maintain familiarity with applicable company policies and procedures.
Additional Requirements of the PositionExperience and/or Education:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Previous healthcare, medical office, imaging, or patient-care experience preferred.
- Previous experience working in an MRI or other diagnostic imaging environment preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
- Completion of required MRI safety training upon hire.
