Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) / Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team with passion and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality resident care, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a compassionate environment that promotes residents’ well-being. Your leadership will drive excellence in clinical operations, staff supervision, and care coordination across various healthcare settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while advancing your nursing management career.

Responsibilities

Provide expert oversight of nursing services, ensuring all care plans are accurately developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for each resident’s individual needs.
Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Coordinate interdisciplinary communication to optimize resident care, including managing documentation review and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.
Oversee the management of medical records and electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing medical records, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as Medicare requirements and state licensing laws.
Facilitate staff shift management, ensuring adequate coverage while maintaining high standards of care delivery.
Support the development of care plans based on physiology and anatomy knowledge, incorporating resident’s <PERSON> (personal preferences), medical history, and current health status.

Requirements

Active RN license with current registration in good standing; prior experience as a DON or nurse management role preferred.
Extensive background in assisted living, nursing home experience, home health, hospice care, or acute care settings.
Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills in managing nursing teams and overseeing shift operations.
Knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set), Medicare regulations, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR systems for efficient medical records management.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records confidentiality, and compliance standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining positive resident interactions.
Ability to handle shift management responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and care coordination.
