Job Description:

InGenesis is currently seeking an Accountant to work with our client. In this role, you will be responsible for performing accounting and financial support functions, with a focus on the accurate closeout of transportation projects funded by federal, state, and local sources. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial systems, ensuring compliance with applicable fiscal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Complete accurate and compliant financial closeouts for transportation projects, including voucher processing and cost settlements with Local Public Agencies (LPAs) and third parties
Utilize financial and project management systems (e.g., OAKS FIN, OAKS BI) to support closeout activities and broader office operations
Perform routine accounting duties, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and data validation
Review and process financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
Assist with audits by preparing documentation and supporting materials
Maintain organized and detailed financial records and documentation
Develop and analyze reports using Excel and other tools to support financial decision-making
Collaborate with internal teams and respond to sensitive or confidential financial inquiries
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least 6 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance, including intermediate-level spreadsheet skills
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., OAKS FIN) and reporting tools (e.g., OAKS BI)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proficiency with standard business technology, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software
