Full Job Description

Ambulatory Surgical Center is seeking full-time registered nurses interested a Monday through Friday day shift position. The ideal candidates enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced environment and have good time management skills. Candidates should have experience with circulating and recovery. You'd be a great fit with our team if you have a positive attitude and are motivated, friendly, and passionate about giving patients a great experience and helping your teammates.

About the Candidates:

The candidates we are looking for have positive attitudes and take pride in their work performance. Professionalism is a high priority in all communication with patients and staff. Seeking a special personality for nurses that convey confidence and competence while also putting patients at ease. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills are highly valued. Additional valued skills include creativity and initiative with identifying areas for improvement and presenting solutions to challenges. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.

Job Duties:

Insure OR and recovery supplies and equipment needed for the surgery day is present and functional
Admit the preoperative surgical patients with taking history, performing vital signs, and reviewing the recovery process and teaching postop instructions
Anticipates patient surgical case needs and plans accordingly.
Implements and documents the nursing process to provide direct individualized patient care.
Accurately documents operative information.
Administers and monitors medication, treatments and coordinates patient care in accordance with physicians’ orders and according to established policies and procedures. Experience with conscious sedation under direct physician supervision a plus but not necessary.
Begin intravenous lines and able to do blood draws as needed, ability to give conscious sedation by physician’s orders
Recover the patient per protocol.
Assists in positioning, responding to comfort/safety of patient
Performs complete and thorough documentation of the surgical procedure and recovery phase
Performs patient and family education regarding postoperative care, surgical drains, etc.
Discharges patients and transports patients to their escort’s vehicle
Participates in quality assurance, infection control, emergency drills, and state and Medicare certification for the ambulatory surgery center

Requirements:

Registered nurse (RN) education with specific and extensive training in PACU/Recovery Room with airway management skills and recovery medication knowledge
Pain Management and Plastic Surgery Experience a plus
Scrubbing even better!!
Strong clinical knowledge and judgment
OR circulating experience beneficial, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
