Overview:

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift) - No weekends, no holidays, no on call.

Travel required to all sites - Dublin, Westerville, New Albany and Main Campus-Downtown.

Job Description Summary:

Assists the Orthopedic Physicians in the examination, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with orthopedic conditions.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Certifications:

Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) , or equivalent, preferred.

Skills:

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Experience:

One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 41-60 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Power Tools, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Squat/kneel, Walking

FREQUENTLY: Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Sitting, Standing

CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Color vision, Computer skills, Depth perception, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near

Additional Physical Requirements performed but not listed above:

Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person (s) and/or equipment.
Local travel to offsite locations
