At The Marriage & Family Institute (MFI), we provide outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, using an attachment-based, trauma-informed, and system grounded approach. Our clinicians are supported in doing thoughtful, systems-aware work with individuals and families navigating complex relational and developmental needs.
MFI is seeking an experienced independently licensed clinician Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Independently Licensed Social Worker (LISW) or Independently licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) to join our outpatient private practice mental health team. This role is ideal for therapists who value autonomy with structure, enjoy relational and systems-based work, and want to practice in a setting that prioritizes quality over volume. About the Role
As an independently licensed clinician at MFI, you will maintain your own clinical caseload while being supported by strong administrative systems, consultation opportunities, and a collaborative team culture. You will have the freedom to shape your schedule and clinical focus while working within a thoughtfully organized practice.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and families
- Work comfortably with a range of family dynamics, including adolescents and adults
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using our EHR (training provided) via SimplePractice
- Participate in group consultation and peer collaboration (1–3 hours/month)
- Collaborate with fellow clinicians and leadership to support continuity of care and practice culture

Who We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Active Ohio license in good standing: LPCC, LISW, or IMFT
- 2–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience working with range of clients including adolescents, adults, couples, or families.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills
- Comfort working independently while also engaging in collaboration
- Familiarity with or openness to relational and systems-based frameworks
- Comfort with technology and electronic health records
Preferred (but not required)
- Training/Certification in Couples Therapy, Family Systems, EFT, Gottman Method, CBT, or DBT
- Experience in outpatient or private practice settings
- Interest in consultation, mentorship, or future leadership opportunities
- Openness pursuing supervisory designation or offering site-based superivsion or leadership training
- Pastoral or integrative care experience
