Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B & AEMT) – Physicians Ambulance | Cleveland, OH $19.00 – $28.00/hr | Full-Time & Part-Time

A Fleet That's Ready — Every Shift. Our vehicles are work-ordered daily, equipment is properly calibrated, and units are fully stocked and organized before you ever turn a wheel. You'll have everything you need to do your job at the highest level — because that's the standard we hold ourselves to.

A Career Path, Not Just a Job. We believe in growing our own. PAS offers structured advancement from EMT-B to AEMT to Paramedic and beyond — with bridge programs, and scheduling flexibility built in. We also offer Field Training Officer (FTO) certification, leadership development, and specialized training in event medicine and other field-extensions. Real Clinical Support Behind You. Our on-site Accredited Learning Center is staffed by six credentialed EMS Instructors. You'll have access to a dedicated clinical education team, free refresher courses through educational partnerships, and the guidance of exceptional medical direction on every call.

Compensation That Reflects Your Value. We pay 10% above the national average, with an experience-based wage matrix and additional compensation for AEMT certification. Full-time pay boosts, differential pay for mid, night, weekend, and event shifts, and a merit-based review process that rewards performance — not just seniority.

What You'll Do

Respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, providing basic and advanced life support services within your scope of practice
Assess patients' conditions and deliver appropriate emergency medical care with compassion and precision
Safely operate emergency vehicles and transport patients to appropriate medical facilities
Monitor and record vital signs, documenting all patient care activities thoroughly
Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the care experience
Assist Paramedics with advanced procedures when working on ALS units
Maintain ambulance readiness through thorough equipment checks and vehicle inspections
Communicate effectively with dispatch, receiving facilities, and your healthcare team
Participate in community events and public education initiatives as a representative of PAS

Additional responsibilities for AEMTs:

Perform advanced airway management techniques
Administer select medications within AEMT scope of practice
Establish and maintain IV access
Provide advanced patient assessment and interventions
Serve as lead EMT on BLS units when appropriate

What We're Looking For

Certifications & Licensing

Current Ohio EMT-B or AEMT Certification (required)
CPR / BLS for Healthcare Providers (required)
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
EVOC certification (preferred)

Clinical Skills

Strong patient assessment abilities appropriate to certification level
Knowledge of BLS techniques and emergency medical procedures
Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and documentation
Ability to operate and maintain emergency medical equipment
Experience with patient lifting and moving techniques

Professional Qualities

Composure and sound decision-making under pressure
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members
Collaborative, team-first mindset

Preferred

Previous EMS or healthcare experience (new graduates welcome — we provide comprehensive orientation and field training)
Additional certifications: PHTLS, ACLS, PALS
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
