Full Job Description

We are a growing trucking company in Powell. We are looking for an Office Manager and Payroll Specialist to work directly with the owner and help run the business day to day.

This is an in person role for someone who likes being involved in everything. You will manage the office, support drivers and contractors, keep financial records organized, solve problems as they come up, and help the CEO move projects forward.

You will handle weekly payroll for company drivers and contractors, bookkeeping in QuickBooks, invoices, bills, account reconciliations, fuel and credit card records, and the information our accountant needs. You will make sure the numbers are right and that nothing gets missed.

You will also be the point person for office operations. You will communicate with drivers, dispatchers, brokers, shippers, vendors, and contractors. You will help resolve escalations, follow up on missing paperwork, keep driver and contractor files current, assist with onboarding, and make sure documents such as rate confirmations, BOLs, insurance, medical cards, and agreements are organized.

You will work closely with the CEO on projects that help the company grow. This can include improving processes, following up on important tasks, coordinating vendors and contractors, keeping projects on schedule, and handling the day to day details that allow the owner to focus on the bigger picture.

This is a startup style environment. Things move quickly, priorities can change, and you need to be comfortable taking ownership instead of waiting to be told every next step. You need to be organized, good with numbers, comfortable making calls, and able to handle problems calmly.

Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, office management, trucking, logistics, driver recruiting, contractor settlements, QuickBooks, Excel, or Google Sheets is strongly preferred. You must be able to handle confidential financial and employee information with good judgment.
