Overview:

The Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, located at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a clinical geneticist to join in our outpatient clinical, research and teaching activities.

The Di v i s ion ser v e s in p a t i e nt s and ou t p a t i e n t s of all a g e s i n a variety of disciplines several subspeciality clinics. The s u c ce ss f ul c a ndi d a t e will collaborate with specialists and genetic counselors at NCH to build the future of outpatient genetic care , joining a n e x p a n ding t e a m t h a t c onsi s t s of ten c l i n i c al g e n e t ic i sts ( two m e t a b oli c ) , 21 g e ne t ic c o u ns e l or s , three m e t a b olic di e t ici a n s, t hr e e nu r se p r a ct i t i o n e rs, a nd m e t a b olic m e di c al ass i s t a n t s / L P N s . Special focused clinics welcome- neurology, cardiology, nephrology, heme, etc, and/or syndrome focused work.

Job Description Summary:

Provides medical care and treatment to patients.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.

Education Requirement:

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
Unrestricted licensed physician, required.

Certifications:

Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
