Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our botulinum toxin research healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform specimen collection, patient care, and assist with clinical procedures to ensure accurate diagnostics and exceptional patient service. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for patients while supporting the smooth operation of our medical laboratory and clinical environments. Must be available to work on Thursdays and possibly Wednesdays.

Responsibilities

Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately, adhering to proper handling and storage protocols.
Assist healthcare providers with patient care activities, including vital signs.
Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, including data entry into electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during specimen collection and other clinical procedures, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
Follow laboratory procedures and techniques to uphold quality standards in specimen collection, processing, and handling.

Requirements

Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or medical laboratory work. Minimum of 1 year experience in phlebotomy.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and record keeping.
Ability to perform venipuncture (blood sampling) efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique.
Strong customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
