Assignment Overview

Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs
Hours: 36 hrs/wk

Length: 13 weeks

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
Patient ratio of 1:3.5
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
13-week assignment length
EPIC documentation system used
Pyxis medication dispensing system used
Floating required
Weekend rotation of every other or every third weekend
36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements

Active Ohio or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
CPI certification preferred
Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
Stroke-certified and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
Comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency medications
Experience with procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors
Arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
Continuous IV paralytics and IV sedation experience preferred
Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)

Additional Information

Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to consideration, limited to 7 days or less
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, either by traveling to an in-state location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet
