Full Job Description

Job Overview
Worthington Pools is seeking a motivated and organized Operations and Programming Support Associate to join the SwimInc professional staff. This leadership role oversees the swim lessons program, supports administrative operations of the Worthington Swim Club, and assists with special event coordination at the Worthington Natatorium and the City of Worthington's outdoor pool complex.

The ideal candidate is passionate about aquatics, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional programs and customer service for swimmers, families, and the community.

Responsibilities

Swim Lesson Program Oversight (40%)
Design, implement, and oversee swim and aquatics education programs for various age groups and skill levels.
Staff Management & Training
Recruit, train, and supervise a team of swim instructors and support staff, ensuring all staff are currently certified, knowledgeable, and committed to safety.
Conduct in-service training sessions to maintain high teaching standards, focusing on safety, skill development, and customer service.
Conduct performance reviews (as appropriate) for all program staff.
Community Engagement & Customer Service
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community to promote a welcoming atmosphere.
Address and resolve any participant or parent concerns in a timely and professional manner, focusing on creating a positive experience for all.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
Develop and manage the swim lesson program budget.
Monitor expenses, manage program revenue, and look for ways to increase profitability through program growth and maximization of use of pool time.
Marketing & Promotion
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote swim programs.
Track enrollment data and implement strategies to boost program participation.

Worthington Swim Club Administrative Support (40%)

Send weekly team communications including announcements, schedule updates, and meet information.
Respond to parent inquiries regarding schedules, billing, and policies.
Maintain team communication platforms such as email lists, apps, and web pages.
Manage practice schedules, lane allocations, and seasonal calendars.
Coordinate team meetings, events, and activities.
Track swimmer attendance, performance data, and team records.
Assist with tryouts, evaluations, and group placements.
Support home meet logistics including entries, heat sheets, and meet timelines.
Track meet registration and fees.
Coordinate travel, lodging, and transportation for away meets.
Assist with database management (Team Manager), invoicing, and basic bookkeeping.
Order and manage team equipment and supplies.

Event Support (20%)

Assist Pool Supervisors with setup and teardown for swim meets, water polo matches, and special events.
Prepare facility spaces by arranging deck layouts, signage, and equipment.
Return facility areas to standard operation after events.
Participate in a Manager on Duty rotation to ensure professional staff presence during major events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2 years of aquatics experience, including leadership or program management.
Experience with swim team operations or coaching preferred.
Knowledge of Colorado Timing System equipment and Hy-Tek Meet Management software preferred.
Ability to obtain American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification within 60 days of hire.
Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification preferred.
Strong understanding of swim curriculum, instructional methods, and safety protocols.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, particularly during swim meets and major events.

Work Environment

This position works across multiple facilities including the Worthington Natatorium and the City of Worthington outdoor pool complex, supporting both daily operations and large community aquatic events.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
