Full Job Description

Student Services Coordinator (K–8)

Position Overview:

The Student Services Coordinator is a key member of the school leadership team responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring systems that support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. This role leads the coordination of student support services, including intervention systems, special education programming, and schoolwide structures aligned to continuous improvement.

This position is critical to the transformation of A+ Arts Academy and is responsible for establishing data-driven systems, ensuring compliance, and building sustainable practices that improve student outcomes. The Director will lead the implementation of a comprehensive Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (iMTSS) and ensure alignment between instructional practices, intervention strategies, and accountability measures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. iMTSS Leadership & Systems Development:

Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive iMTSS framework across academic, behavioral, and attendance domains
Establish and lead structured Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 intervention systems, including clear entry/exit criteria and progress monitoring protocols
Facilitate regular data-driven team meetings to analyze student performance and adjust interventions
Develop systems to track student progress, intervention fidelity, and outcomes, ensuring alignment to school improvement goals
Align iMTSS practices with Ohio Improvement Process (OIP) and state accountability expectations

2. Special Education Oversight & Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with Ohio Operating Standards for Students with Disabilities
Oversee systems for:
IEP/ETR timelines and documentation
Service delivery and SDI implementation
Progress monitoring aligned to measurable goals
Lead internal audits and ensure accuracy of special education documentation
Support staff in implementing accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction
Coordinate with State Support Team and external partners to strengthen compliance and programming

3. Instructional Leadership & Intervention Support:

Support the development and implementation of targeted intervention systems aligned to student needs
Utilize data to drive instructional decision-making and resource allocation
Collaborate with staff to strengthen:
Literacy instruction
Intervention strategies
Differentiated instruction practices
Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust programming based on student outcomes

4. Attendance & Early Warning Systems:

Design and implement a formal Early Warning System (EWS) to identify and support at-risk students
Monitor key indicators such as:
Attendance
Behavior
Academic performance
Develop and oversee re-engagement strategies for chronically absent students
Align attendance systems to graduation pathways and long-term student success

5. Student Behavior, Culture & Climate:

Lead implementation of PBIS and behavior support systems
Develop consistent schoolwide expectations and intervention strategies
Use behavior data to inform decision-making and improve school climate
Support staff in implementing restorative practices and engagement strategies

6. Systems, Procedures & Accountability:

Build and maintain clear, consistent systems and procedures for student services
Develop structures for:
Data tracking and reporting
Intervention monitoring
Compliance documentation
Ensure all systems are implemented with fidelity and accountability
Support alignment between student services, instruction, and school improvement planning

7. Leadership & Staff Development:

Provide coaching and support to teachers, intervention specialists, and support staff
Design and deliver professional development related to:
Data-driven instruction
iMTSS implementation
Literacy and intervention strategies
Build staff capacity to implement systems effectively and consistently
Serve as an active member of the school leadership team, contributing to transformation efforts

Qualifications:

Valid Ohio Principal Licensure
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in instructional leadership, student services, or related role
Demonstrated experience with:
MTSS/iMTSS frameworks
Data analysis and intervention systems
Special education compliance and support
Strong background in urban education and school improvement efforts preferred

Preferred Experience for This Role:

Experience designing and implementing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS/iMTSS)
Proven success improving student outcomes, engagement, or graduation pathways
Background in literacy leadership, instructional coaching, or intervention systems
Experience coordinating state testing, accountability systems, and reporting

Improve student achievement, attendance, and engagement
Strengthen special education compliance and service delivery systems
Build sustainable schoolwide systems and procedures
Support a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement

Pay: $48,574.77 - $58,498.64 per year
