As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you play a direct role in providing optimal care each day by serving our residents in a safe& caring environment. You will partner with the Administrator and Director of Nursing a great team of healthcare staff to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment and routine for our residents.
Status: Full-time, hourly position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, reporting to the Director of Nursing. Participate in on call rotation. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required as needed.
Responsibilities:
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Staffing
- Hire qualified staff
- Ensure adequate staff, meeting resident’s needs 24/7/365
- Oversee scheduling of staff
- Ensure appropriate number of staff members are scheduled in accordance with Federal/State regulations, including and not limited to Registered Nurses
Service to Residents
- Ensure the delivery of excellent care and services as well as ensure excellent customer satisfaction
- Oversee professional standards and ensures staff provides good quality of life and dignity to each resident/patient
- Oversee the delivery of physician services
- Work with Administrator assessing effectiveness of pharmacy and lab services
- Oversee the special needs of residents, implementing appropriate policies and procedures for resident care (i.e. ostomies, IV’s, etc.)
Regulation Compliance
- Assist Administrator with overall regulation.
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures for the use of physical and chemical restraints. WCV goal is to have zero in each category
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures preventing pressure sores. WCV goal is to have zero in house acquired pressure sores
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to infection control
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to WCV Quality Assurance program. Must lead quarterly QA meetings and work with staff to develop appropriate reports
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to drug storage and labeling, as well as disposal
- Responsible for compliance with all regulations
- Infection Preventionist: tracks trends, implements safety protocols, and educates staff to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and ensure regulatory compliance.
Administrative Functions
- Perform various HR functions including and not limited to the following:
- Payroll items
- Provide adequate counseling, coaching and discipline as needed to supervise staff members , including terminations when appropriate
- Develop and oversee departmental orientation for new employees
- Annual performance evaluations
- Develop and update job descriptions
- Assist with various WCV committee functions as requested
- Develop an on call schedule and participate with on call responsibilities including weekend management
- Participate in community activities as directed by WCV management.
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience; or combination of experience and education which demonstrates competence in required areas.
- A Certificate from an accredited nursing program; or two years’ experience in one capacity in one related field; or experience which demonstrates competence in required areas.
- A combination of education and experience which provides a complete picture of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties required.
Pay: $44.00 - $45.00 per hour
