Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum / Mother-Baby

Location: Columbus, OH
Job Type: Travel Nursing Contract | [13 weeks / 26 weeks]
Schedule: [Days/Nights] | [3×12-hour shifts]
Pay: $[hourly rate] per week, depending on experience and applicable stipends

Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Postpartum/Mother-Baby assignment at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of recent postpartum nursing experience, strong Labor & Delivery (L&D) knowledge, peripheral IV-start skills, and experience using EPIC.

The RN may float to another unit with a similar patient population and acuity based on hospital staffing needs.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to postpartum and mother-baby patients.
Assess and monitor postpartum patients, newborns, and families.
Perform patient education related to postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
Start and maintain peripheral IVs.
Administer medications and IV therapies according to hospital policy.
Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in EPIC.
Float to units with similar patient acuity when needed.

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio.
Minimum 2 years of recent postpartum or Mother-Baby RN experience.
Recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience.
Demonstrated peripheral IV-start skills.
Current BLS certification.
Current IV certification or documented IV competency, as required by the facility.
Recent EPIC EMR experience.
Ability to work the assigned schedule and float to a comparable unit when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel nursing experience.
Experience in a high-acuity hospital or academic medical center.
LDRP, women’s services, obstetrics, newborn, or maternal-child health experience.
