Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Teriyaki MadnessOverview

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the overall success of our restaurant. The AGM serves as the second-in-command and plays a key role in leading daily operations, developing team members, driving sales, maintaining food quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This position requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development

Assist the General Manager in overseeing all restaurant operations.
Lead, coach, and develop Shift Leaders and Team Members to achieve operational excellence.
Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees.
Conduct ongoing coaching and performance feedback to improve team performance.
Foster a positive work environment focused on accountability, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
Serve as Manager on Duty when the General Manager is absent.

Operations Management

Ensure efficient execution of all restaurant systems, procedures, and brand standards.
Monitor food quality, presentation, speed of service, and cleanliness throughout each shift.
Manage labor deployment and scheduling to maximize productivity and control costs.
Maintain compliance with company policies, health department regulations, food safety standards, and workplace safety procedures.
Identify operational opportunities and implement process improvements.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

Assist in managing labor, food, and controllable costs to meet profitability goals.
Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, and waste control initiatives.
Perform cash handling, deposits, drawer audits, and end-of-day reconciliation.
Review restaurant performance metrics and help develop action plans to achieve sales and operational targets.
Assist with budgeting and financial reporting as needed.

Guest Experience

Ensure every guest receives friendly, accurate, and efficient service.
Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
Build relationships with guests and contribute to a welcoming restaurant atmosphere.
Support local store marketing and community engagement initiatives.

Facility & Equipment Management

Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
Coordinate routine maintenance and communicate equipment issues promptly.
Verify that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

2+ years of restaurant leadership experience, preferably in a quick-service or fast-casual environment.
Previous experience as a Shift Leader, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or similar leadership role.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, labor management, and inventory control.
Experience with POS systems, preferably Revel.
Proven ability to lead teams, coach employees, and drive performance.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, including exposure to heat and cold.

Success in This Role

A successful Assistant General Manager consistently delivers outstanding guest experiences, develops a strong team, maintains operational excellence, controls costs, and helps the restaurant achieve sales and profitability goals while supporting the General Manager in all aspects of the business.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
