Full Job Description

Hybrid - Staff Accountant (Healthcare) — United Church Homes, Inc. | Columbus, OH

United Church Homes is hiring a motivated, experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll support accounting operations across multiple healthcare centers and related organizations. You’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and providing reporting and analysis to support operational decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Perform general ledger activities in a multi-site, multi-entity environment
Support month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance review
Prepare and assist with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis for operations and leadership
Help ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional partners across facilities to resolve issues and improve processes
Maintain organized documentation and support audits or internal reviews as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or aligned background(accredited 4-year institution)
4+ years of accounting experience
Healthcare accounting experience
Experience in a multi-site and/or multi-entity accounting environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical/problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams across the organization

Work Location & Schedule

Primary location: Columbus, OH - HYBRID WFH
Travel: Marion, OH as needed (may be up to 2 days/week during initial training)
Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility based on business needs
