The Sr. Manager, Core Operations and Inventory Management is responsible for shaping and advancing how inventory, procurement, and storage strategies come to life across the store network. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy and field execution, ensuring that core operational capabilities are designed with both scale and store realities in mind. As a trusted advocate for the field, the Sr. Manager brings a deep understanding of store operations to enterprise decision‑making, balancing customer experience, associate workload, financial discipline, and operational risk.
Operating with broad influence across Store Operations, Finance, Merchandise Planning & Allocation, Logistics, Procurement, and Home Office partners, the Sr. Manager plays a critical role in translating enterprise strategies into sustainable, executable operational capabilities. This leader is accountable for anticipating future operational needs, navigating complexity and competing priorities, and ensuring the organization is prepared for change—both in the near term and as the business scales. The role combines disciplined financial stewardship, data‑informed judgment, and inclusive people leadership to strengthen core processes, enable new ways of working, and develop talent. As a key leadership position within Core Operations, the Sr. Manager helps ensure today’s execution is strong while building the foundation for future growth and broader enterprise leadership responsibility.
- Lead the end‑to‑end Inventory Management Lifecycle, including inventory processes, procurement, and storage solutions, ensuring operational excellence across the store network.
- Drive large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives from concept through pilot, rollout, and stabilization, ensuring operational readiness, clear execution, and sustained adoption.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Logistics, Procurement, Merchandise Planning & Allocation, Finance, and Store Operations to design and deliver scalable solutions that improve efficiency, inventory health, and customer experience.
- Use data and field insights to identify operational gaps and opportunities, developing solutions that simplify store execution, improve safety, and support sales growth.
- Act as a voice for the field, actively soliciting feedback from store and field leaders and translating insights into practical, executable improvements.
- Champion a customer‑ and associate‑first mentality, ensuring initiatives reduce complexity and enable store teams to focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
- Manage supplies and storage budgets in partnership with Finance, ensuring disciplined spend and strong return on investment.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.
- 7-10+ years of experience leading complex projects, implementations, or initiatives in a retail, store operations, or omnichannel environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in store operations and field‑based retail, with a deep understanding of the needs of a field organization.
- Proven leadership experience managing, developing, and inspiring high‑performing teams, including cross‑functional partners and direct reports.
- Strong project and program management capabilities, with the ability to lead multiple sophisticated initiatives simultaneously and drive work from ideation through execution.
- Ability to partner effectively with senior business leaders, influence without authority, and align stakeholders around shared outcomes.
- Highly analytical and strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills; able to take a data‑driven approach, see the big picture, and identify patterns across complex or ambiguous inputs.
- Experience developing operational solutions, content, and enablement for a field‑based audience, incorporating feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, change‑oriented environment, with the ability to prioritize contending demands and adapt quickly as priorities evolve.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience building, scaling, and evolving teams, systems, or programs; approximately 20% travel required.
