Position Title: Lead Tech
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: Contract to hire - 4 months
Pay: $26-35
Key Accountabilities
- Take care of and communicate with the customer.
- Quality and appearance of installed work meets or exceeds customer and company expectations.
- Manage Materials, Tools, Equipment, and assigned manpower from kickoff through completion. Plan assigned projects including two-week look ahead to promote efficient resource utilization (90 % minimum required).
- Record Keeping: Accurate reporting of job status, records and changes 100%.
- Full ownership as evidenced by seeing the overall project from planning stages through completion with an attention to quality, customer’s expectation and sense of urgency. Manage installers and technicians when required.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of the project.
- Organizes, schedules, assigns, performs, & prioritizes work activities on a Daily, Weekly, and two-week look basis for assigned project team (Foreman, Lead Technician, Installer II and Installer I (as applicable)).
- Verifies the correct materials / parts are on the project to match specifications and notifies management of additional materials / parts requirements well in advance of the planned date of installation.
- Ensures that necessary equipment and manpower is coordinated with the field operations management and on the jobsite, properly maintained and utilized as required.
- Ensure that all on site project work follows established company policy and quality, customer, productivity, and safety procedures.
- Completes related paperwork, reports, and support functions.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communications, coordination, and working relations with the customer and company personnel.
- Assists and supports other Foreman and Project Management personnel as needed. Assists the field operations management team in evaluating the progress and performance of Lead Technicians, Installer II, and Installer I personnel. Provides suggestions for improved performances.
- Keeps the Project Manager informed of all areas of project activities and of any significant concerns. Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
- Keeps the Customer informed in accordance with company standards or client requests as directed by manager.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that field operations & installation functions are conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Follows and ensures that project team follows established Field Operations procedures and instructions.
- Follows and ensures that project team follows quality and safety standards.
- Ensures that deadlines are met.
- Ensures the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Inspects work upon completion.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Completes and updates weekly project reports.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Assists in other areas as needed.
- Performs the duties of Technicians as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
Certification:
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of installation procedures.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience required, two+ (2+) years preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Quality orientation.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Willingness to assist others.
- Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions.

Repetitive Motions:
- Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Fine, Acute Visual Abilities:
- Fine visual acuity with the ability to inspect closely or to assemble small parts; color vision; or depth perception and/or field of vision.
Physical Strength:
- Medium work; exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
Working Conditions
- Must work under hazardous conditions including high places, exposure to electrical current, and moving machinery.
- Worker may be subject to other construction and client site hazards and required to work with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Mental Activities and Requirements of This Position
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations.
Mathematics Ability:
- Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding; subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound (or their metric counterparts).
