Job Description
Nursn PRN Academy is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Clinical Instructor to join our growing healthcare education team. This position is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who is passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
As a Clinical Instructor, you will provide engaging instruction in both online and in-person learning environments. Depending on your qualifications, certifications, and academy needs, you may teach classroom theory, skills labs, clinical rotations, certification courses, continuing education classes, and exam preparation programs.
The ideal candidate is flexible, professional, organized, and committed to creating a positive, supportive learning experience while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and educational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach healthcare courses in online, classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Instruct students using evidence-based teaching practices and adult learning principles.
- Supervise students during clinical rotations while ensuring patient safety and compliance with facility policies.
- Demonstrate and evaluate clinical skills, competencies, and professional behaviors.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, skills demonstrations, and learning activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, grading, evaluations, and student documentation.
- Provide timely feedback, coaching, and academic support to students.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with California regulations, academy policies, and program standards.
- Collaborate with academy leadership to improve curriculum and student outcomes.
- Participate in orientation sessions, instructor meetings, and academy events as needed.
- Maintain professionalism while representing Nursn PRN Academy within partner healthcare facilities and the community.

Qualifications
- Current California RN or LVN license in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience (preferred).
- Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or precepting experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Comfortable teaching both in-person and online using virtual learning platforms.
- Reliable transportation for clinical site assignments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with academy leadership.
- Passion for healthcare education and student success.
