Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Plumbing Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale plumbing infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex construction activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and extensive experience in managing plumbing and mechanical systems within commercial or infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial plumbing projects simultaneously.
- Oversee all phases of assigned projects from contract award through project closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans.
- Prepare and monitor project forecasts, cost reports, and financial performance.
- Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and project scope.
- Coordinate with design teams, engineers, architects, and general contractors.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing project coordination meetings.
- Manage procurement of plumbing materials and major equipment.
- Coordinate shop fabrication and field installation activities.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing and manage subcontractor performance.
- Track labor productivity and implement corrective action when necessary.
- Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules and contractual milestones.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and vendors.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
- Review monthly billings and assist with collections when necessary.
- Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Participate in project turnover, punch list completion, and closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of commercial plumbing project management experience.
- Experience managing commercial mechanical/plumbing construction projects.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, piping, and commercial construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of contracts and construction documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and industry standards.
- Experience with Design-Build and Design-Assist delivery methods.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination
- Experience with healthcare, laboratory, life science, multifamily, and commercial office projects.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Vista or similar project management software.
