Full Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Please Note: Napa Valley College accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately, if a need arises without having to wait for a period of time to advertise. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by the department supervisor, dean and/or program coordinator. Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years.

Napa Valley College is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly 21st Century Workability Skills instructors. The starting salary range is $79.40-$85.87/classroom hour, with future steps up to $100.46/classroom hour. Placement is based on verified previous college teaching or counseling experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach a range of 21st Century Employability Skills related courses within the Noncredit Education discipline and promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
May be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

Earned Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.

OR

any Associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.

Successful applicants will be able to provide a Verification of Employment/Recommendation letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry knowledge, skills and abilities in any of the following areas:

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification;
Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert Certification;
Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals;
Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams;
Possession of a California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
Business Correspondence

Desirable Qualification:
Demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online modalities.

A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications and/or salary placement, even if the foreign transcript has previously been accepted by a different college or university in the United States. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the organizations approved by the State of California, Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
