Office Manager — Kanect Recycling
Ashtabula, OH 44004 | Full-Time | $50,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience

About Us
Kanect Recycling is a division of the Kanect Group, a family of enterprises founded on the principle of "Kanectivity" — the belief that businesses, individuals, and communities thrive most when working in partnership. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager with an accounting background to join our team and support the continued growth of our operations.

Position Overview
The Office Manager will play a central role in the financial and administrative operations of the company, overseeing accounting functions, payroll, compliance, and contract administration while working closely with company leadership and external advisors.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day office operations and administrative workflows
Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and general bookkeeping functions
Monitor outstanding liabilities and ensure timely disbursement of all payments
Reconcile accounts and support month-end financial reporting
Maintain accurate records pertaining to scrap purchases, sales, and vendor transactions
Administer payroll processing, employee scheduling, and workforce coordination
Manage DOT certification and regulatory compliance, including driver qualification files, medical certifications, and drug/alcohol testing records
Oversee company insurance policies and maintain all required licenses and compliance documentation
Administer, review, and manage contracts and agreements, including purchase contracts, rental agreements, event contracts, and employment/independent contractor agreements
Collaborate with the CFO and external advisors on cash flow management and financial planning
Coordinate and maintain company-wide scheduling and operational calendars
Oversee marketing budgets and monitor expenditures against approved plans
Review, approve, and monitor company purchases in accordance with established budgets and policy
Partner with ownership on reporting initiatives and continuous process improvement

Qualifications

Background in accounting or bookkeeping required; Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
Proficiency with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing
Familiarity with DOT compliance requirements, or willingness to obtain certification
Prior experience administering or reviewing contracts and business agreements
Exceptional organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic business environment
Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience within the recycling, scrap metal, or transportation/logistics industries is preferred but not required
