About Metinteractive

Metinteractive is a woman-owned business specializing in audio, video, and IT design and integration for national entertainment venues. We're trusted with the technology behind some of the largest venues in the world, including the University of Michigan's Big House, the largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere, with a second top-five U.S. stadium coming soon. We excel at managing complex projects of all sizes with agility and responsiveness, consistently delivering on time.

Work Location

This position is based in Western Connecticut. In-person work is preferred; however, remote candidates with the right experience will be considered.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Audio Video Design Engineer to lead the design and development of complex AV systems for our clients. In this role, you'll own the engineering of integrated audio, video, and control systems from concept through implementation, ensuring seamless integration and reliable performance in demanding, high-profile environments.

Metinteractive is heavily situated in sports, hospitality, theatrical, and cultural institutions, and direct design experience in one or more of these areas is a must. You'll combine technical precision with creative problem-solving to deliver systems that perform under the operational pressures these venues demand, working alongside a collaborative team that takes pride in getting it right.

Key Responsibilities

Design complete AV systems including signal flow, equipment selection, rack layout, and infrastructure for a wide variety of project types (sports, theatrical, hospitality, corporate, houses of worship, large venues)
Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and rack elevations
Design and specify professional sound systems for large and complex spaces, including coverage modeling and acoustic considerations
Design and specify LED video wall systems, including pixel pitch selection, content processing, signal distribution, and structural coordination
Produce thorough system documentation: design drawings, equipment schedules, BOMs, and submittal packages
Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors during design development and construction administration phases
Conduct site surveys and assessments for new and existing installations
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
Participate in client presentations and design reviews
Travel domestically to project sites as required

Requirements

5+ years of experience in AV system design, with demonstrated expertise across multiple project types
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD for AV system drawing production
Deep knowledge of traditional AV systems: video distribution, signal routing, control systems (Crestron, AMX, QSC, etc.)
Professional sound system design experience, including familiarity with tools such as EASE, Meyer Sound MAPP, d&b ArrayCalc, or similar
Experience designing LED video wall systems for large venues and live events
Strong understanding of AV-over-IP, Dante/AES67, HDBaseT, and related technologies
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (AVIXA, NEC, ADA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

AVIXA CTS-D certification strongly preferred
BIM/Revit experience a significant plus
Experience with large venues such as arenas, performing arts centers, stadiums, or houses of worship
Familiarity with control and DSP programming (Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, Biamp, etc.)
Working knowledge of construction documentation processes and coordination with GCs and MEP trades

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
