Full Job Description

What a day looks like

You start your shift (first or second) by reviewing work orders, reading blueprints, and interpreting GD&T to plan the approach. You program mills and lathes with clear zero and reference points, set tool offsets and compensation, and verify the program with a first-article run. Throughout the day, you adjust feeds and speeds, measure critical features with calipers and micrometers, and document production and quality data. You keep machines humming with preventative maintenance, escalate repairs when needed, and uphold our safety and quality procedures. Along the way, you spot opportunities to improve throughput and take ownership to make them happen.

Shifts: Openings on 1st and 2nd shift

Core responsibilities

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Program CNC mills and lathes (G-code or similar), including zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
Set up three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vises and tram heads.
Verify setup and program accuracy with first-run parts and sample checks; follow quality assurance procedures and international standards.
Monitor operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Complete preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
Document actions via production and quality logs; maintain accurate records of quantities and defects.
Support organizational goals by taking ownership and seeking ways to add value.
Other duties as business needs require.

Qualifications

Minimum

High school diploma or equivalent.
Foundational knowledge of CNC machining processes and equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred

Technical degree/certification in CNC machining or related field.
Hands-on CNC experience in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to program with G-code or comparable languages.
Background in quality control and inspection techniques.
Team-oriented mindset and collaborative work style.

Tools and platforms

Mazak experience is a plus.
Proficiency with milling and lathe operations.
Exposure to Fryer brand equipment is helpful.

Job Type: Full-time
Hourly range: 20 to 34 USD, dependent on qualifications and experience
