Experienced Auto Body Technician

D’Addario Collision | Shelton, CT
Pay Range: $75,000–$120,000

D’Addario Collision is a family-owned and operated auto body shop in Shelton, CT. We are a busy, established shop looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team.

This is an experienced technician position — we are not seeking entry-level candidates.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently, and is comfortable handling collision repairs from teardown through completion.

Compensation

$75,000–$120,000 earning potential
Flat Rate or Hourly compensation, based on experience and comfort level
Unlimited earning potential for Flat Rate Technicians
Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality collision repairs in accordance with repair estimates, manufacturer procedures, and industry standards.
Teardown and inspect vehicles to identify additional or hidden damage.
Repair and replace damaged body and structural components.
Perform sheet metal, panel, fiberglass, framework, fabrication, and welding repairs as needed.
Perform necessary mechanical and electrical repairs related to collision damage.
Install and properly align body components.
Review repair orders, estimates, and work order notes to ensure all required repairs are completed.
Identify additional damage and communicate supplements or repair concerns to the estimator or Body Shop Manager.
Follow manufacturer repair procedures and warranty guidelines.
Complete repairs efficiently and accurately while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Maintain current knowledge of collision repair techniques, equipment, and manufacturer procedures.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Auto Body/Collision Repair Technician required.
This position is not entry level.
Strong experience with collision repair, bodywork, and vehicle teardown.
Welding, suspension, framework, and structural repair experience preferred.
Experience with modern vehicle repair procedures and collision repair technology.
I-CAR certifications preferred.
Mechanical & Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair certifications are a plus.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently while being a team player.
