Job Overview
Carlisle K9 Dog Training is looking for a hardworking, reliable Kennel Technician to help maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of our training facility and property.
Are you passionate about dogs and eager to learn the fundamentals of professional dog training? We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kennel Care Technician to join our team.
This is a unique hybrid role designed for someone who wants to get their foot in the door of the
dog training world. While your primary and non-negotiable responsibilities will be keeping our
facility spotless and our dogs well-cared for, you will also be coached and taught foundational
dog training skills. You will get hands-on experience with lower-level training tasks like loose
leash walking, structured play, and basic handling.
You just need to bring a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn!
What You’ll Do (The Non-Negotiables)
Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment is the most critical part of this job. Daily
responsibilities include:
* Sanitation & Cleaning: Keeping all potty areas clean and sanitized every single day.
* Facility Maintenance: Mopping floors, taking out trash, cleaning crates, and ensuring the
entire facility remains tidy and organized.
* Dog Care: Letting dogs out for potty breaks, monitoring them, and giving dogs baths when
needed.
* Detail-Oriented Upkeep: Proactively cleaning up messes and ensuring all areas are nice,
clean, and welcoming.
The Training & Coaching Track
As you master the kennel care and cleaning responsibilities, you will be introduced to our
training program. We will actively coach you on:
* Loose Leash Walking: Teaching dogs how to walk politely on a leash.
* Structured Play: Facilitating safe, productive, and engaging play sessions.
* Basic Handling: Learning how to read canine body language and safely handle dogs of
various sizes and temperaments.
What We’re Looking For
· Hardworking & Reliable: You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves, clean up messes, and do
the dirty work required to keep a kennel running smoothly.
· Eager to Learn: You have a genuine desire to learn about dog behavior and professional
dog training.
· Attention to Detail: You take pride in a clean environment and don't cut corners when it
comes to sanitization.
· Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long periods, handle active dogs, and
perform physical cleaning tasks (mopping, lifting, bending).
· Dependable: You can commit to a 5–6 day per week schedule and show up ready to work.
Why Join Us?
· Career Growth: This is a stepping stone into professional dog training. We invest in our
team and want to teach you the skills to succeed.
· Hands-On Experience: Work directly with dogs every day and learn from experienced
professionals.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
