Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The Experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal’s primary goal is to relieve Attorneys of a portion of the tasks involved in the practice of law, so Attorneys can focus on more substantive and valuable tasks. Paralegals perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of one or more Attorneys in the office.

Essential Duties:

Case Management Discuss initial case assessment with assigned Attorney

Ensure calendar deadlines and case milestones are added to the Firm’s Master Calendar in the Case Management System and the Firm’s Litigation Board ensure no deadlines are missed and cases move forward. Identify and resolve calendar scheduling conflicts. Review upcoming daily, weekly, and monthly appointments, court appearances and tasks to prioritize workload. Triage client communications to follow up via phone and email as required. Maintain accurate client records in the Case Management System (CMS) and in Clio Connect. Maintain physical and electronic client case files

Perform case work. Investigate parties for asset and lawsuits affecting transactions.

Create and draft transaction checklists, term sheets, and other communications of intention to enter into transactions. Moving cases forward by maintaining client files and timely review of records and bills. Review accounting records. Draft motions, Draft proposed orders, Draft discovery requests or responses. Support trial preparation work. Draft demand letters.

Education & Experience

Completion of a course of study offered by a college or university especially for Paralegals, as evidenced by certification as a trained Paralegal.
A Litigation Paralegal should have at least 3 years’ experience working in a Law Firm. Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience working in Business, Insurance, Commercial, or Real Estate Litigation.

KPIs will be reviewed and adjusted periodically based on the needs of the Firm.

Min. Billable Hrs. 30-hours per week of productive time is attributed to billable work on behalf of the client (Bonuses occur after 90 days and for those hours above the minimum hourly billable requirements)

· Ensure at least 99% of clients with active matters receive contact at least once per month.

· 90% of cases are completed within the deadlines established in the checklist.

· 90% of all assigned tasks are completed on time per the monthly all hands down meeting at the beginning of the month.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
